The boundaries of what Bookmint may be used for, which sectors are excluded, and the rules that protect your customers and other users of the service.

Last updated: 20 July 2026

01

What is Bookmint for?

Bookmint is for lawful appointment businesses planning their own booking flow and staff rota: hair, beauty and nail studios, mobile grooming, home cleaning and visiting services, fitness classes and personal training, and studio or clinic front desks handling appointment logistics.

Use it to draft your own service timings, page wording, messages, rota and policy text for your own business.

02

Which sectors are not allowed?

You may not use Bookmint to arrange, promote or schedule:

  • gambling, betting, lotteries or any wagering activity;
  • adult services, sexual services or adult entertainment;
  • the sale or supply of drugs, prescription medicines, tobacco, vaping products, alcohol delivery, weapons or ammunition;
  • lending, debt collection, investment schemes, cryptocurrency trading or any regulated financial activity;
  • medical diagnosis, treatment planning or any clinical decision-making;
  • immigration, legal or tax representation held out as professional advice;
  • any activity requiring a licence you do not hold, or that is unlawful where you or your customers are located.

Appointment logistics for a clinic front desk are permitted. Anything that touches clinical judgement or patient care is not.

03

What content is not allowed?

Do not submit or request output that:

  • uses a third-party brand, trade mark, logo, character, team, programme or platform name;
  • impersonates another business or suggests an association or endorsement that does not exist;
  • makes claims you cannot substantiate about results, qualifications, accreditation or outcomes;
  • is discriminatory, harassing, hateful, threatening or defamatory;
  • contains malicious code, or attempts to probe, overload or reverse engineer the service.

04

What are the rules about your customers' data?

Do not enter your customers’ personal data into the workspace. Bookmint does not need customer names, telephone numbers, email addresses, addresses, health information, or payment details to produce a configuration, and it is not designed to hold them.

When you run your own booking system, you are the controller of your customers’ personal data and are responsible for handling it lawfully, including telling them what you collect and honouring their rights.

05

How may the message templates be used?

Confirmation, reminder and follow-up wording is for messages people expect because they made a booking with you. It must not be used for unsolicited marketing, bulk promotional messaging, or any campaign sent to people who have not agreed to hear from you.

You are responsible for complying with the electronic marketing rules that apply where your customers are, including consent and an easy way to opt out.

06

What about taking money?

Bookmint must not be presented to your customers as a payment service. It does not collect or hold their money. If you take deposits, you do so under your own payment account, in your own name, with the funds going directly to you.

07

How is this enforced?

Where we become aware of a breach we may warn you, restrict a feature, suspend access, or end the subscription, depending on how serious it is. Where the law requires, we report the matter to the relevant authority.
